The Partridge G3AY Patriot Wet Sproat Hook is the original sproat hook and today, remains the standard heavy wet pattern for the entire fly tying industry. The origins of this hook are believed to date back to a pattern developed by hook makers Hutchinson of Kendal in the 1880’s. This strong hook with short point and forged bend is now used in #14 as the standard benchmark for wire weight and shank length.
